AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is designed to be a four-year elective program. Students are selected through a process that includes recommendations from the junior high schools, a student application, and an interview. The profile of an AVID student is one who is currently doing adequate work in junior or senior high school and who has the potential to be accepted by at least one four-year university. Through the AVID program, students will be placed in rigorous academic classes and will have resources made available to help them succeed. Additional information, such as course listings, descriptions, teachers, and department chairs, can be found on the AVID page of our main school web site.
